In order for Ian to be permitted onto the work site he had to pass his Construction Safety Orientation Course, which he did this week, he managed to record some of the course.

We also wanted to show some of the facts that have driven this project and helped shape it to it’s current state. The video shows a small part of the process in becoming a migrant construction worker in Singapore and gives an insight into why they risk so much for what appears to be so little to us.

About

Made by Migrants is a collaborative project undertaken by a group of interns from BBH Singapore. The project aims to look past the skin-deep perceptions of migrant workers by revealing their motivations, stories and dreams.

Ian, one of the team’s members from Manchester will live and work with migrant construction workers on site for two weeks. He plans to document his experience and those of the men around him to share with the outside world.
